Description

Name: Grapple Gun
Author: Lhos
Version: 1.0
Compatibility: PC-only

Description:
An easy to use alternative to the hoverboard and translocator.

Credits:
Frazzled for his source code, that's what got me started on a working version. Also the only reason I even attempted to
write in unrealscript.

Installation:
Unzip the contents of the archive, keeping folder structure, into your "..My DocumentsMy GamesUnreal Tournament 3" folder. Enable the Grapple Gun mutator, and if you want, there's an ingame configuration menu too.

Finally made it to 1.0!

After messing around with a grapple gun mod for 2k4, I was surprised to find one didn't exist for UT3 - just nonworking source code and a bunch of "does this exist?" threads. I took Frazzled's source and spliced it into the Link Gun, and it worked with a surprisingly small amount of debugging. It's now grown into this awesome little gizmo.

I'm working on a trailer - my laptop doesn't like recording smoothly at any decent resolution. Watch this space for the trailer when it's done.

FEATURES:
Grapple Beam
==This is the primary fire mode. It has a range of 2000 UU, and uses 50 energy per second. It can latch on to surfaces, vehicles, and even players.

Repulsor Beam
==This is the alternate fire mode. It has a range of only 1000 UU, and uses 100 energy per second. It can push against the same targets the grapple beam can pull.

Color-Coded Crosshairs: When in grapple range, your crosshair will turn green. When in repel range, it turns yellow. When grappling or repelling ("hooked" to a target), it turns red. When out of range and/or not hooked to anything, it turns white.

Energy System: Regenerates 40 energy per second while not firing, even when holstered. Consumes no ammo while firing out of range, although regeneration also stops.

Grapples Players and Vehicles: Push a sniper from his perch, or pull that flag carrier back towards your base. Latch onto a friendly Goliath and go for a ride, or hang from an enemy Raptor.

And of course:
Insane Mobility: Use the repulsor to soften your landings and avoid splattering from dizzying heights. Climb mountainsides to reach previously inaccessible areas. Practice, and you can propel yourself along the ground faster than any vehicle.
